Technical Easy question from a Newbie !!

Good Evening All,

I have just joined the forum and have a question, which hopefully is an easy one for you Marea Experts (And probably a stupid one to ask, but I'm not sure of the answer, hence the question !)

I have a 2001 Marea Weekend 1.6 100 SX, and I need a new N/S Front Wing.

I have seen one advertised on Flea-Bay, for a Fiat Marea 1996>, and when I asked the seller if the Front Wing is the same on the saloon as on the Weekend, he said 'he thought so' !

Obviously, I don't want to part with my hard earned if its the wrong part and just need confirmation that the part fits both the saloon and estate ?

Also, I found another website that sold new N/S Front Wings, painted to match, but again, that just says Marea, not Weekend, but it also says its for Marea 1996 - 1998.

Is the 1996 - 1998 a different panel to the 2001 model I have ?

Sorry for the long post, but would appreciate any answers you guys may have for me.

i cant remember if the lower spec/engine models of marea have the smaller wing like the bravo or not.

The website selling new wings and painted to match is on everycarpart . co . uk

But they're the ones that just show Marea 1996 - 1998, so I don't want to buy that if it changed in my 2001 model.

yeah all the marea wings are the same in that case, also the bravo HGT wings will fit

word of warning though, a friend of mine has fitted a pattern part to his Bravo and if you really can tell the difference, the gaps are awful and it doesnt ever quite line up right.

Think i may go for the pre-painted option, thats £62 for wing, £60 for painting and £6 delivery, so not too bad I think.

To be honest, I'm not massively bothered about an ultra exact fit, I'm in a bit of a credit hole at the mo, so bought this car (off a mate of a mate, who's just been banned for DD'ing . . again, and wanted rid) for only £150.

It's only done 58K, and seems an alright motor apart from the wing smash (which I think is a result of his last DD!). Needs a couple of things sorting out . . . like the boot wont open and the stereo doesn't work, but other than that it's not bad for a ton and a half !!

sounds like a bargin, stereo and boot are both common faults, should be able to find the answers with a little search

On another note, with regards to the boot and stereo problem, does anyone have any instant thoughts that come to mind ?

The stereo appears to have a light in the display, but cant turn it on or anything. Could it just be as simple as fuses ?

Thanks for you reply - Yes, I did try that first, I registered with www.breakeryard.com, www.carsparesfinder.co.uk and www.247spares.co.uk, who between them are 'supposed' to search hundreds of different scrap yards, and I didn't even get one reply

Ah well, I'll keep trying !

Hi Hagar, thanks very much for your kind offer, but, unfortunately mine is Metallic Black ! Shame, cos that would have been perfect.

Don't suppose any other members have a Metallic Black one (Paint Code 803) ????

I will start a thread in the 'Wanted' section also. My mates gonna look at the Boot and Stereo next week, so may come back to you for Boot Lock.
