Hi everyone. Has anyone had any issues running there older Fiat's on E10 petrol. Mine is a 1995 Gt Punto and all recommendations say its not to be used at all in anything older than 2001 Fiat Engines. It also says if it non compatible to continue using E5 which would be great but unfortunately here in Ireland it's only E 10 that's available everywhere I've looked. Any suggestions?

I think one of the major concerns with E10 is water / corrosion aspect. E10 is far more hydroscopic than E5. E10 has a higher capacity to corrode steel so vehicles with steel fuel components, especially metal fuel tanks, should not leave E10 in the tank for extended periods of time. Same sort of goes for the older enamelled steel fuel pipes.

Occasional use of E10 should not be a problem as I understand it.

See / read here: Castrol Etha-Guard

All products in the Valvemaster Fuel Additive range contain Etha-Guard. Etha-Guard counteracts ethanol’s hygroscopic nature, preventing moisture and damage to your fuel system, stabilising E5 & E10 petrol.
