DVD player not working

Hey, I've got a problem with my DVD drive on my laptop, whenever I put a CD/DVD in it wont load up, I can hear it moving around, but nothing happens with it.

Does anyone know what to do? Just brought Sims 3 and really want to play it

Does it play music CDs?

Could just be a knackered disc/ drive.

Ive been and bought an external dvd drive and its workign fine so im all happy now
