hi guys and dolls
hope im in the correct section
i recently bought a 2014 fiat 500 lounge (0.9 turbo twin air)with a couple of problems
first it gets no gears....it will click over to auto and the hydraulics prime when the door is opened
second the engine is giving a really loud screech when running.......it sounds like a bearing somewhere....when i rev the engine it will hold screech and then will stop after it reaches revs
so i was thinking serpentine belt/pulleys
so to access the belt i pulled the charge air pipe off(from the top) and found a pinched O ring into the throttle body
the serpentine belt looks due for replacement but the functions and idler bearings all looked fine...one idler roller did have some rubber build up on it tho
also checked the hyd oil and found it was on the mark
after that i found it easier to access belt from below
there are no codes(that i can see)
multiECU scan dont post to australia
tomorrow i will refit the top pipes with repaired O ring then run engine with the serpentine belt OFF
then fit up belt and run again(using old belt while awaiting new belt)
i dont know the history of the faults as orig owner was Chinese and not much good with English but he said a mechanic told him it needs a complete new gearbox
heres what i am hoping.....the screeching was caused by compressed air from the turbo leaking out from trapped O ring......the ecu dosent like low air pressure so has decided to put the car into (no-go mode)....
will find out more tomorrow
