General ducato power steering pump hole

Hi all, there is a hole in the casting of my power steering pump, at the top about 2 o clock there is a flat part, does anything fit into this hole?
Also on top of the pump there is a threaded hole, I assume there is supposed to be a bolt in this?

I wouldn't be able to help mate, but I'm sure vehicle details (year,engine etc etc) might help someone who can help

Right it is a 1996 2.5D the hole in what I think is the top of the pump is around 10mm and threaded, I think I've seen some engines with a valve type thing in this position.
The other hole with the flat around the 1 to 2 o clock position is in the casting, at first I thought it was a hole for a breather.
I'm sure something should go in the hole because of the flat.
