General Ducato odometer registering miles while not moving

Hi,
I have a fiat ducato 2.8jtd 2002 base vehicle for my hymer.
The alternator fuse on the battery terminal blew because I was sat stationary with the air con turned on whilst qeueing for the tunnel wed afternoon.
I assumed the alternator had gone so I carried on driving till the battery was flat, then I found the fuse was gone, fixed it and jump started it

Now the odometer is clocking up miles when the vehicle is stationary, any ideas what is wrong.

Reulator probably gone more likely alternator probably spewing out high alternating voltage.

Thanks for your reply it does it with the ignition turned on and the engine not running.

I have the same problem with my 2003 Fiat Ducato 2.8 JTD.

Did you manage to resolve the issue? If so, I'd love to know the solution!
