From where is the power to the side repeater lights of a 2007 Ducato based motorhome taken please?

Side repeater lights are part of the motorhome conversion. Fiat provide an interface panel at the base of the RHS B pillar. This provides power and control signals for marker lights, door locking, fridge, and habitation battery charging, The converter will use a ready built 12V electrical system, of which Sargent is frequently used on UK conversions. Sargent and other systems typically use an interface fuse and relay box to connect the systems. Sargent offered two versions a, either EM40, or EM50. The EM40 has proved to be unreliable in service, with connectors overheating to smoking point in some instances.
A typical location for such a module is under the driver's seat.

I do not think that any more specific info can be given unless you supply the make of the 12V electrical installation in your particular vehicle, but hopefully you are only looking for a blown fuse.

Thanks Communicator. Very helpful but that is the second time I have been told to look for the fuses at the bottom of the right hand door pillar and can not find them so they must be under the internal cladding (there is no hatch). I have removed both door steps so far and shall have to look under the pillar cladding. but Is that the right hand looking from the front or the rear, ie Port or Starboard which is left or right as seen by the person who is driving while they are driving or in the UK near side or off side. I want to be right because I shall have to remove the cladding to the door pillar and I do not want to do it twice, if possible, as it is not easy to do.
Potentially made even more complicated by the fact that my McLouis is Italian and is LH drive and an electrical fire (Major battery short out ((seat collapsed on top of the battery terminals, how? don't ask), destroyed the leisure controls but not the vehicle controls.
Sorry if that is complicated but I need to know as an MOT fail or pass is dependent on it, Thanks again for your trouble. For your information the leisure battery charger is Nordelettronica on this vehicle and is so far (17+years) completely reliable and trouble free

To avoid any confusion I always refer to the side of the vehicle when facing forward. So if an optional converters panel has been specified it will be on the drivers side of a RHD vehicle. It is a of contention of mine that if I was to require a LHS headlamp unit as viewed from thee drivers seat, then I would expect to get the correct component if I ordered a LHS headlamp unit for the vehicle.

I doubt that you will find a faulty fuse on the converters panel, as it only supplies the control signal. Please do not spend time pulling your vehicle apart.

What I surmise you need to look for is either a McLouis, or Nordelettronica fuse and relay unit, which could be concealed anywhere.

Thanks for the reply and the clarification and also the manual pages (now why did I fail to find that in my searchings, I wonder). Not finding the fuse board within the area of the right hand column as you suggested, I have attacked the right side and have found only a big connector in there and some wires which I shall investigate better when I have managed to get a screw out which is restricted by a bench seat and the passenger (driver in RHD vehicle) seat.
They don't make life easy, these converters. I shall have to drill a hole through the side of the bench seat to allow a screw driver through. (I have tried a cranked screwdriver and am unable to get enough purchase on it).
On the left without the door step but with the column cladding still in place, I have peered into the left side and there is a plastic cover in there which seems to have nothing under it but I shall try a small mirror and investigate further. All those wires in the right side are very tempting so I shall check those first though still no fuses in sight.
Just for information the Nordelettronica charger unit is under the RH reat and is easily accessed via a cover at the front of the seat. it will be tomorrow now.

And do you have a page that tells what relays t30, t31, t25, and t66 do?

Thanks, Harry

You have it. See under "CONTACTORS" on page 134. The attached pages are extracts from the "X250 Training Manual" that is available in the Downloads section, for which see the black banner at the top of the page.

Thinking outside of the box, Do the marker lights have filament bulbs, or LEDs? If the latter, then current demand is very low. Perhaps they are tagged onto the existing side/rear light circuit. Possibly, this could be done without upsetting the BCM, and raising a bulb fault alarm?

The lamps at the rear of most coach built conversions are frequently connected into the original Fiat wiring via on or two added junction boxes under the vehicle.

I have replaced them for leds when a significant amount of them blew. I will look for these junction boxes. That sounds like a very good tip. Thanks again.

Unfortunately it has started drizzling again, Cornish sunshine, we call it and I am not getting under the wagon again if I can help it. At my age (83) I avoid climbing around underneath as much as possible as I need help to get out again especially when it is wet, so sorry, it is not going to happen.

The wire was in a duct within the side skirt moulding, near the back, if that helps.

Raining here also, will get under the vehicle and see if I can find it when the rain stops
Cheers for the info..
