Ok Have completed convesion of welfare bus to Motor caravan & sent documents along photographs to the Dvla to have registration document changed . So started seeking insurance quotes & the inevitable questions are asked like does the vehicle have an imobiliser to thatcham spec?
I run a 2003 Citroen Picasso & I know that the factory fitted imobiliser is to thatcham 2 spec. Does the 2002 Ducato meet thatcham 2 spec ?
Just need to be sure for insurance purpose.Any experts out ther able to addvise?

Thanks for the reply Corkman. Never owned a Fiat Ducato before,so as green as grass.Mine being an ex ambulance has an imobiliser button that cuts all battery power, this button has to be held in when you turn on the ignition in order for it to latch & power up. Also it has 2 hazad switches, one is normal & allows the engine to run & flash the indicators, the other cuts the engine & all power & flashes the indicators. Do all Ducatos have the imobilser button that has to be held in to start?

Never heard of a button like that, is it hidden? I would imagine its a safety thing to stop people driving off with the doors open etc.

But it soulds like all the work is done for your second break required by thatcham, just wire the immobiliser to the switch.

Thanks again corkman,I do not want to get to involved as there is so much wireing added for inverters for flourescent lights, roof extractor fans plus erberspacher night heater oh & there are four aerials on the roof for vhf/uhf radio ,mobile phone.plus gps without the blues two,s that have been removed, I have traced & removed what redundant wiriing I can find all used because its an emergency vehicle.
The imobiliser button is on the dash in plain view grouped with all the others so does not stand out.

To post photographs I assume they have to be web based?
