Hi Folks,
A little info that might be of interest to some.
I was looking here for any info regarding the horn, so I thought it only fair I share my findings.
A friend asked me to have a look at his motorhome, a 2008 Ducato, 2.3, I believe.
It failed its MOT due to the yellow headlights and a non-working horn. I started by checking the fuse and relay, which were fine, and then removed the steering wheel to test the clock spring, which was also okay.
Next, I checked under the fuse box for corrosion; there was none, so I connected power to the pin in the plug under the fuse box, and the horn sounded, so I knew that was ok.
So I decided there must be a fault between the fuse box and the clock spring, so I started working back from the fuse box. Anyway, I got to a point where I stopped getting continuity, and that was just before the power steering bottle, so the fault must have been there and the steering wheel.
So by this time I was getting peed off, I'd been at it hours and it was red hot, so I cheated lol I ran a short wire from the last continuity point through the rubber where the loom goes through the bulkhead to the loom running up to the airbag, Bingo one horn.
My friend did the headlights with T-cut and a buffer, and they turned out great. How long they will last, we'll see.
