General ducato engine blown

hi all new to the group i was wondering if anyone could help me with something while driveing down the m1 motor way in dublin the engine in my 2005 fiat ducato blew up throwing parts every where and oil all over the place there was a small tapping noise first then bang can any one tell me the cost of a new engine for a 2.2 jtd fiat ducato 2005 lwb and is it worth putting a new engine into it there is 105450 miles on the clock so what does the group think am i mad even thinking about putting an engine into it

I assume your timing belt was never changed who was servicing it? 800 quid for a decent engine although my neighbour whose a mechanic can get them for about 500 which actually makes it about the same price to get him to fit it.

I suppose a 2005 with 100k mile these days is about 2500-3500 depending on how hard you look. Can be got cheap in the north too and brought in for 70? quid.

I'll throw you 50 quid for the banjaxed one
