Technical Ducato DPF, oil filter location in relation to eper

Hello all,

I have a FIAT Ducato 2010 120 multijet. When I enter the VIN into ePer, it returns as a Nuovo Ducato 2006-2014, which makes sense. However, when I try to align what I see in the schematics with what I see under the vehicle, they do not match. The filter is on somewhat of a separate rectangular mounting at an angle, as opposed to directly against the engine perpendicular. What explains this discrepancy? Am I looking at the wrong schematic?

Further, I would like to check the DPF sensor and A) cannot find it on the vehicle and B) cannot find it anywhere in the schematics. Does anyone know where it would be located?

Could it be some 3rd party 'passive' oil cooler extension ?

I didn't take a very close look, but the screenshot is actually from a Youtube video showing an oil change in the UK, and I am in Switzerland . So unless the two vans got identical 3rd party modifications across the channel, I don't think so.

Certainly looks like what is , I wonder if you deselect your vin from the search that that might come up

On my vehicle, a 2013/Euro5, the DPF pressure sensor is accessible from below the vehicle, it is bolted to the chassis forward of the DPF and a bit more inboard. Roughly under the feet of the middle passenger, in between the exhaust pipe and the battery case. Follow the small metal pipes welded to the DPF and you'll find it.

Is it possible that you have a pre production 2011 vehicle? I also cannot find the DPF in ePer for the 2006-2014 model, but it is listed in the 2011-2014 model. Maybe that would also explain the oil filter discrepancy.

I think you're possibly checking the wrong engine.

The Ford Puma 2.2 engine was fitted to Ducatos at that time, with a 120 output. I can't quite match up the angles, but the oil filter for that was mounted to an oil-cooler shaped just like the photograph.

The schematic below (ignore the highlighted part) shows the oil-filter and the cooler to which it is fitted for that Puma engine.

Should this be the case, ePer doesn't seem very useful for schematics for this engine. All the indications I can find are that the DPF and Catalyser are combined as a single part in the exhaust system.

A bit of further info:

The ePer versions I can access are confusing as they show a separate filter housing and element for the Puma engine, but listings indicate a change to a one-part canister filter part way through production. (as per the diagram above, which didn't come directly from ePer).

I believe the part number is 71779555. I can't find it in ePer either.

Could be anything, but the different angled arrangement illustrated here for the 2.2 Puma engine should help to differentiate.
