Hello dear fiat users!
I'm new to the forum. I just bought a 2017 Ducato 2.3 multijet 130 euro 6 twin egr(no AdBlue) from an auction. Been daily driving it for the past 4 weeks and I've been loving it. Such a great handling van with so much power.
The car functions very well and drives normally, but there is one thing in particular that is not right. I've tried calling different "Ducato specialists" and tried to find answers online, but all issues are a little different than this one and no one knows the answer.
After shutting off the car/engine, the fan turns on and keeps going for around 3 to 5 minutes. Even starting the car when it's 4°C outside and shutting it down after 1 minute, the fan starts spinning directly. There is no check engine light, nor error codes in MES.
I've spent every evening trying to find the problem, but still no clue.
I noticed some weird things:
-The glowplug light always goes on for only 2 seoncs. Doesn't matter if it's 3°C or 24°C outside. But if I start the engine directly after the glow plug light turns off during cold mornings, the engine won't run and just keeps dying. But if I wait 5/7 seconds longer after the light turns off, it runs fine. In the manual I read that you should start the engine immediately after the lights turn off, but that doesn't work here.
-ive checked every connection and cable under the bonnet, checked all the pins etc. After a couple hours, I noticed a lose connector of the back of the engine! Turns out it's the plug that connects to the low pressure egr! But how is it possible that it was disconnected and it didn't show any errors?
-The DPF regeneration started 3 times already. First time was driving home after i bought it, with the LPEGR still disconnected. The others were after connecting the cable. The regenerations never finished though. I was driving for hours. One time I even drove for 4 hours in all gears, all kinds of rpm, and it still never finished.
-Reading parameters in MES is all fine and every sensor shows correct data. But when I click on parameters about dpf, like average temperature of regenerations etc, the program doesn't give any value.
-Testing the HPEGR gives as a result: OK
-Testing the LPEGR gives a result: EGR is blocked
Does anyone know where to begin and how this is possible?
0 errors on the dash.
Thank you in advance!
