Hi all. My 2010 Ducato (2.2 PUMA) failed only on the horn not working :(

Fuse fine. Relay working so im told it has to be the ribbon behind the steering wheel.

instead of all the faf im putting a momentary switch into the dashboard and jumping a live from the cigarette lighter. So from the switch i have to run a wire through the bulkhead fwd into the front wing or engine bay.
Ive had a look and there isnt a lot of room
Any help appreciated

If the relay is working reliably, I cannot accept the explanation that the "clock spring" or ribbon is faulty, as the relay coil is earthed via this when the button is pressed. More likely to be the horn itself.

The relay was tested out of the vehicle would that make a difference?
Yes, because you have not proved the relay operating circuit. With the relay removed, one the smaller socket poles should have permanent 12V, and the other should connect to earth when the horn push is pressed. Unfortunately the ribbon or "clock spring" is still supect. Another possible culprit is the earth connection to the horn itself.

I do understand your reluctance to delve into the steering column, particularly where a driver's airbag is involved.
