Technical Ducato 160 2007 Pump change

Hi, I want to change to diesel pump on my 3.0L Ducato 160 new shape.
I do not see any timing marks, can i put the engine on TDC and pull out the old pump, align the gear drive on the new pump and drop it in without messing with timing adjustments?

I am no mechanic but I have read examples of fuel pumps being replaced an the motors running but experiencing odd symptoms after. I am pretty sure that the fuel pump timing is critical and not quite as straightforward as it would seem.

Hi, I have just been told that it is just a high pressure pump and no timing is nessesary, great job.
