Technical Ducato 1.9.Diesel engine replacement

Hi folks, I'm after some advice about my 94 Ducato motorhome, that may need an engine replacement....Had water pouring out from the back of the engine, and its not the manifold ,looks like the blocks cracked. My mechanic friend doesnt think it would be worth it to get a replacement head on an old engine . He reckons it,ll throw up trouble later . I'm not sure. he thinks better to get another engine. I would like to know how many (if any) diesel blocks would fit in? Could I upgrade to a larger engine? Oh yeah .....and has anyone any idea where I might find one ? hi, if you are intertested i have a 1.9 diesal from a 1992 ducato, its done 54000 mile, good runner, no known issuies, get in touch if interetsed.
