No, unless you are an expert in electronics. As far as published information goes, it is a proverbial "black box".

I have never had the need to replace one. My understanding is that all switches are installed, but blanking caps are fitted to unused items. If price is same, and when confirmed faulty, I would go for one with extra switch tops, e.g. front fog lights. Replace
unused switch tops with blanking caps from present switch. Keep spare tops in case of need.

Getting at the "switch control panel" (H090) is not easy. From memory, ou have to remove radio, and note holder. Generally working down from the top. Once in there you could short appropriate connector pins to prove all other parts of headlight circuits.

Before starting double check that all necessary supplies are present. Could save your wallet. and time. I can only remember one previous mention of faulty panel.

I’ve got to the panel and removed. Am I right in thinking that if I connect earth to a/v (light blue/green) the dipped beam would light?

Yes it does. I’ve Earth both main beam and dipped and both work.
I’ve got continuity from the column stalk on both. I’m thinking that the problem is within the panel.

Sounds logical. Do indicators and emergency flashers function? This will prove supplies and earth to panel. Sorry to labour the point but there have been more headlight problems due to faulty fuses F24 or F37, and I can only recall one faulty panel. I do not want you to buy replacement, and still have fault.

I’ve put the meter on both connection 17 & 8 and put my meter on with the other end on live and have12v. Indicating that all good up to the control box. F24 & F37 all good. I’ve ordered a box. I’ll reply to thread when I fit it. Thanks.
