Welcome to the forum Paul, and thanks for the response. Was it you who did my exhaust this morning? Good job!

I think it's a good idea to show this to Paul DT. As you can see there are a large number of owners here who want to keep faith in DTR but have found it difficult so you must be losing a considerable amount of business.

I live much closer to another Fiat specialist (although I've never used them) but wanted to see the new set up which is why I came there this morning for my downpipe. If I had found it as difficult as I have in the past to get an answer I'd probably never have come back.

Incidentally, I don't think either of your email addresses are working. They certainly didn't last week. Is that intentional? Big mistake if it is, in my opinion.

Here's to rebuilding the faith in DTR. This is a great place to do that as there are plenty of owners looking for help, advice and spares. Please let us know if you ever have any special offers or interesting and hard-to-get parts available.

Hi Tim,

The emails as far as I know were working and I've been replying to most of them today and yes it was me that did your exhaust this morning.

Glad to be here guys and as I said I'll try and check in here as often as I can, apart from when I'm repairing your cars.

Hi Paul B,

Good to see you here. I have never used DTR myself, live far away and have always been a sceptic. The fact that you are now on this forum has given your firm a real reputational boost in my opinion and I will seriously consider using you guys in future if my local trusted supplier cannot deliver. Cheers. Matt

Thank you first of all for all you comments, we really do value feedback and are certainly do not consider ourselves above criticism.
Over the last 20 years of business, we believe that our personal attention has never been found lacking, and it has been to this end that we have (deliberately) not employed someone purely to answer the phones. Most callers (in our opinion) would rather talk to the person working on their car, or at least someone who is a specialist and is in a position to help or at the very least re-direct their call.
At our Coulsdon premises, we have new phone system that ensures that the call, if not answered straight away, gets directed to the workshop, bodyshop or office. If it fails to get answered it could be that our staff are on another call (there are 5 lines here), or cannot reach the phone quickly enough. Whilst we appreciate that this may be frustrating, we greatly value your business, and are in the process of ammending this so that no one is disapointed with this aspect of our service.
We have, and always will make time to talk to owners be they enthusiasts, or even just considering buying a vehicle of the type we specialise in. We do not charge for informal inspections and opinions, but have always given advice and information freely.
Our website is about to be fully redesigned, and will have better parts and car sales features, together with a regularly updated page featuring interesting projects we are currently undertaking. This may take another couple of months, so please, be patient.
Our move from Mortlake to 50% larger premises in Coulsdon, was to focus on what we specialise in, without dillution by other makes which we were geographically obliged to work on.
We are now, we consider, able to offer a much improved service to all our customers, but do please let me know in the first instance, if there is any aspect of the service DTR offer that you feel disappointed with. We will not be offended and I will not ignore any issues that you feel we may have.

I rang DTR in desperation after the local alarm company screwed up my B and then were unable to unscrew it..

Guy in DTR (Paul?) couldn't have been more helpful trying to diagnose an immobilised car from 300mls away, didn't solve it but 10/10 for trying. Fault turned out to be a soaking wet alarm control box in the passenger footwell.

I'd certainly go back to DTR (the stainless exhaust they fitted for the previous owner is still fine after 7 years)..

Not surprisingly the local Fiat dealer was completely useless..'what's the chassis no mate and we'll have to charge you the full workshop rate for the whole time we look at it..'

I take my hat of to DTR - Good reply and actually glad to hear a garage says those words and not being agressive.

Fairplay DTR - You have my vote.

The only advice I give is (Place more hooks on your exhausts) mine fell off as there were lacking hooks on the right hand side (Ok it did last 7yrs) previous owner bought it so I could not claim under your warranty.

Sound nice thou.

Good luck to you guys. (y)

7 years! I am not sure you really have a leg to stand on if it lasted that long! :D

That was only one of the problems. But the garage put it down to poor fixings.

Someone else had the same issue on FF. If you have one look at it and you will see no right connection arms. Weird.

Also DTR claim lifetime warranty which I would claim to be 15yrs.

Could of been an early spec, maybe (I hope) they have changed it now. I am looking to get one soon!

Other than the fixings issue, have you anything else to report?

Its still the same. I bought one 4yrs back and still the same. It sounds good but for the same prices I had one built.

Better materials and I decided how the end pipes would look. Also the pipe 1 year later is still silver, no rust like my DTR one. All for £299. Warranty as long as I own the car.

I have had two on two cars and sorry DTR, they are not that good.
