yoou see that button on your keyboard between the , and the /

Please use it and break your problem into English then the likes of Tom and myself will be able to understand you!

I fathomed as much as your engine isn't running too well, do you have an lights come on the dash, such as a red one that looks like a petrol nozzle?

Re: Re: Re: drivin me mad please help

Next time it happens lift your foot of the throttle just a bit (to 75-80% of full) and see what happens.

Re: Re: Re: Re: drivin me mad please help

cheers tom what do you think it could be ?? if you dont mind me asking

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: drivin me mad please help

There are a few options, the result of the test should narrow it down a bit.

Is there any particular gear it does it in? When it happens have you just hit the rev limiter in the previous gear? Could always be you are just being a tad over enthusiastic and the rev limiter is cutting in.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: drivin me mad please help

this usually happens in second gear, but i only put foot to the floor when it happens

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: drivin me mad please help

most of the time i only put the accelerator about half way

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: drivin me mad please help

OK, so it happens THEN you boot it?

Next time lift off completely and then boot it. My 1.6 does this about once every 4-5 months, usually in 3rd. I have to shut the throttle completely and it gets better.

Throttle Body

I suffered almost the opposite of yours Tom whereby my HGT sometimes "forgot" I had taken my foot off the acc and left me spinning at 5,000+ rpm! I had the throttle body changed and problem was cured.

Your 1.6 isn't fly by wire though is it (Worked on every other engine except 1.6!)?

Re: Throttle Body

Nope, lowly Mk1 with a bit of string between the pedal and the engine.
