Can anyone advise on how to remove the driveshafts from the gearbox on an 02 petrol

Only purchased a few months ago but the thrust race bearing was making a noise .................... that was untill the other night where it finally gave up (i think) now my hubbie is out there but he is struggling with how to remove the driveshafts from the box itself

He said that what he would normally do would be to leave the inner joint in the box and remove the gator and shaft from it .............. but he isnt sure that its possible on the fiat

Is he loosing his marbles ????

Please help and thanks in advance (y)

He's right that would normally be fine but then you've two halfs of driveshafts dangling out of the box while your already stuck for space with the added complication of exposed CV joints and having to reseal gators on reassembly.
Best remove them altogether. They usually pop out of box with a little persuasion/a drift..just make sure he drains the oil first.
If one is stuck can usually get it out with a drift thru the box.
Marty.
