Technical Driveshaft gaiter - How difficult

I can't find my workshop manual and I'm trying to find out if this is a big job?

Any special tools needed?

It's Ok.

I found the manual. It had slid behind some stuff in the garage.

Doesn't look a difficult job.

Dirty, nasty job. Buy a box of disposable gloves..

You can buy a split boot kit [aka sticky boot], its one you can fit without removing the shaft

Some people hate them, and if not fitted cleanly or properly, can fail within a year. But I have used them in the past, with no problems, cleanliness is the key when fitting and its handy if you have [or can borrow] the proper tool for tightening the metal clips
