Hi all.
New here , just brought a 2016 tipo 1.3 diesel, but has a knock on front end that appears to be near side drive shaft. But I can not find a replacement drive shaft for love or money.
Tried GSF, LCP AUTODOC bit no one has them.
Any idea where I can get this part without paying extortionate main dealer prices

If it is a knock like a clatter when on a tight turn say driving around in circles in a car park , but not in the opposite direction, then most likely the CV joint (Constant Velocity) where the shaft goes in behind the road wheel with a rubber gaiter/boot over it.
If the boot has been left split and the grease has got out and water got in that is the most common cause of failure.
If very lucky a new boot and a load of the correct CV joint grease in and around the joint may be enough to quieten it down, it depends how long it has been neglected for;)
A new CV joint rather than a complete drive shaft is often available at a local spare pares stockist/motorfactor for considerably less than the price of a complete shaft and it is the outer CV jopint that is most common cause of noise.
Any garage or a competent DIY mechanic should be able to fit one.

It sounds like inner joint , no sideways movement but clonks if you pull it in /out

If it isn't clattering, or broken, it may be worth taking the boots off both ends and giving a good greasing with the correct grease.
I couldn't tell from the video , but are you sure the noise is from the inner end and not the outer moving up against the circlip in a dry CV joint?
The inner with a jubilee clip on looks like someone has been working on it?

Interesting, I have potentially the same issue on my 1.2 Panda. Although there are a few things that can cause knocking so I'm not 100% sure yet.

I suspect a damaged inner joint of causing knocking manoeuvring on full lock. I've had mine apart and it has a groove worn in it.

As Mike says, looks like that boot has been replaced, possibly too late after grease was thrown out and damage was done. Certainly what happened to mine.

My plan is to replace the damaged inner plunge joint and see if that fixes it. More info here if of any help: https://www.fiatforum.com/threads/best-way-to-remove-driveshaft.509114/page-3#post-4764252

I removed the clip to see if it had grease in, and replaced with jubilee clip for now, and yes it had grease in but going to try adding more

I don't know if the Tipo is similar, but on the Panda/500 you can detach the lower wishbone ball joint from the bottom of the upright, then there's enough articulation to slide the driveshaft completely out of the inner plunge joint for cleaning, inspection and re-greasing.

I’ve been looking at a similar problem on my 2017 1.6 diesel and found this place online. Not sure how good they are but the parts seem inexpensive:
