General drinking water tastes strange

well we have just come back from a caravan, motorhome and tents campsite, our second outing woohoo

does anyone have any suggestions about the drinking water problems we have, every now and then when making a coffee the water tastes strange , then the next drink is okay. we fill up the tank at home not at the campsite and just wondered what is causing this?

anyone else had the same experience? is it the water tank, or the purifying tablets, do other motorhome users use the water in the tank for drinks or just washing pots and cooking?

any suggestions would be appreciated.

A lot of the sterilisation tablets taint the water for a long time after application, best to use only the brewers sterilisation stuff.

I just flush ours through with puriclean at the start of the year, then just fill it up as we camp. I usually travel empty if I can, then fill it on site.
We use it for everything, and drink it straight from the tank.
Only time we've used chlorine tablets was for an extended period at disney, it wasn't potable water, we used it for washing up, and drank bottled water.
The chlorine taste went after a drain and refill.
