Repair bill is going to be in the region of £500! including parts and labour...

Is there anybody out there ANYBODY that could work with me to do the radiator and head gasket as i simply can afford £500 being a student!

You could try getting a solicitor onto the AA -- they'll try any stunt they can until they see you're legally represented. Maybe through Student Union?

The HG isn't a big deal, the radiator even easier. We'll all help from here.

I have to get i repaired to get back on the road... if i want to dispute it then i send them the bill (if i win) is it worth fighting though?

I know you will all help but im a virgin at mechanics... i didn't even know how to do a clutch adjustment until you told me!

Contact a solicitor now. Often just the threat of legal action can make them move quick. Also you want to know whether you doing any work is likely to invalidate the claim.

We were all virgins once! You can do it!

They'll probably do the first bit for nowt (or next to nothing) on a green form (I think). But I'm pretty sure you can get a lot free through the NUT. From the AAs point of view, it may appear as cheap (or cheaper) to settle the claim rather than face legal action. They could well crumble as soon as that fax arrives on their desk.

should i get her repaired for now and if i win claim it back? £350 for labour on HG and raditor! i will get the parts and skimming done...

Bearing in mind it needs about £250 worth of body work doing?

You might like to look at a new timing belt and tensioner while you're in there.

Spoke to the garage... getting my HG, cam belt and tensioner and radiator done...

does the water pump need doing as well?!

Probably doesn't absolutely need doing, but while they're in there you might as well, otherwise another 500 miles down the road you might need to replace the belt again if the water pump goes.
