Hi

I have a 2000 sporting Sei.

the water keeps dissapearing, sometimes steaming out, other times i dont know how,the leaks are seen when the car is parked...
The fan does work,
iv tried radweld....
Any ideas

Have you checked all the hoses?

Also, are there any traces of it comming through the cap?

Coolant usually leave colour traces behind so you can usually see where it is coming from.

Back up boys/girls/small fluffy creatures from alpha centuri, lets do this the correct way.

Get the cap tested. If testing is going to cost more than a fiver, replace the cap.

Replace if neccessary, make sure car is properly bled.

If problem persists or its not the cap, get the system presure tested.

Take it from there.

Cheers

Will try the cap first, it does seem to let out steam when tightly on, Where do i get a new one?

Secondly if it is HG i got this breakdown cover for up to £500 of repairs with the AA so let break down and they will sort it

Thanks guys...

Iv nicked the one off the cinq im breaking... and it seems to work fine!(y)

i will keep my fingers crossed and keep you updated!

cheers

Nope...
Lost all water within 5 miles...
I do need to get the cap tested as i dont think the cinq one is the best bet... System pressure needs checking.
Or shall i just call the AA out... (knowing them they will probably just put water in and send me on my way!)

If you genuinely have £500 mechanical breakdown recovery, that will cover the cost of repair then drive 5 miles, call out the AA, then call them back out 5 miles later, and they'll have to do something.

However, I would check the terms of your policy very carefully before proceeding.

Cheers

If you make sure you get a new Seicento bottletop then they are designed to hold a higher pressure than the cinq one if I remember correctly? I got one for my old Cinq' from Halfrauds for about £3.

HG went yesterday oil went milky!

Phoned the AA today, they came out and towed it to the garage.

The AA said that the radiator has had a leak and as a result the HG has gone.

Now if the radiator suffered a leak from corrosion (which is most likely the case) then they WONT cover it, neither will they cover the HG,

if its due to a manufacturing fault then they will... they have a sly way around the T&C dont they.

I have been quoted around £500 to get the job right if the AA dont cover it.. Is it worth doing to a 2000 sporting with 105 on the clock?!

That will be the bit about checking the policy very carefully.
