The De-Lorean was built at Dunmurry outside Belfast, It uses Renault mechanicals including a version of the Renault 30 engine and geaarbox. Lotus and the Americans only provided money. I had the opportunity to drive one round De-Loreans own test track "very small" on 3 different occassions. It was ok but not for me. Ferrari 308 GTS for me. Practicable, not that bad on juice, easy to maintain, the roof comes off, it's fast enough to have fun in and it's just looks right from every angle.

all the delorean needs to look perfect is a spoiler. The BTTF films provided "cooling towers" which work as a suitable addition to the back of the car instead of a spoiler.
