The DPF pressure looks a lot better overall, though the peaks to 200 mbar are still a bit high.

Did the cracks in the rubber pipe go all the way through? Mine also has outside cracks but the inside is pristine.

Unless the pipe was clearly leaking, I'm tempted to put the improvement in the distance between regens down to the cleaning of the filter.

I would say the procedure has improved the situation but not quite restored the DPF to as good as new, more like an in-between condition.

See how it goes in the next couple 1000 km, and if the problem recurs, it's probably time for a new DPF in which case I recommend you also have an injector leak off test done at the same time to make sure there's nothing wrong on that side.

Thank you for your opinion. Not very reassuring, unfortunately… The mechanic told us that the pipe was completely damaged and that under the pressure of the turbo while driving, it was causing air leak.

We’ve considered the DPF replacement already, but it doesn’t seem to be broken (no soot in the pipes) and regen system works (even if frequency is too high). It seems that the DPF clogged is only the consequence (of an abnormal soot accumulation), not the cause. I’m very worried of paying 3000€ to have the issue come back right after 😅

Still need to check the injectors indeed. Not easy to communicate with Greek mechanics!

A leaky air intake could definitely have caused excessive soot, yes. So there's hope that "this was it" if it was indeed as bad as described.

The DPF not being quite as good as new after cleaning is somewhat expected and I don't think this necessarily indicates an ongoing problem, but do check these injectors before further expenses :)

If the pictured boost hose was cracked all the way through and leaking boost air the maf sensor would be reading more air than the engine receiving-this would lead to excessive fuel being injected and so more soot.
It is possible for the outer layer to be cracked but inner layer intact. Good spot by garage though and it did need replacing.
