Recently had a service and I now realise that the car did a regen on the way home but did not complete as I turned off engine once home. it was extremely hot at the rear of the vehicle and very smoky when engine was running (which was the regen of course).

Decided to get fuel and give it a run but then had change oil light and red can flashing after leaving the fuel station (went off after approx 30sec). had a good drive but light and warning kept coming up each time engine started. I went back to the garage who could only find a regen counter using snap on diagnostic so they reset it but someone said the system could now clog up if it thinks new DPF fitted as it uses algorythms on mileage etc to calculate if regen needed or not and will therefore not do any regens for some time and possibly damage the engine. Impossible to get clear answers on this as no fiat specialists near me so hoping someone here has the answers before it all goes bang! - advice appreciated. not long had the car either Thanks
