My 1996 Brava has a black plasticy coating on both mirrors/supports. However, it is pealing off in some places and is blistered in others. Has anyone else found this? It looks pretty ugly. I have pulled bits off on the near-side mirror but it has left a white blob showing from underneath. Do I need to buy new mirrors or can I paint the mirrors either with this black stuff or with normal paint?

Its one of those bravo/a things. I re-sprayed mine a couple of times with black plasticote paint

one of my mates has a chip's away franchise and he does excellent work! He did my dads merc which is a dark blue/green colour and my bosses scenic which is dark blue with gold flake in it! about £60 i think for a scratch or small dent!

I also have it. When i was looking at Bravos to buy, i found that most of them have it. Its a common problem.

Where abouts is you mate based Alan? Always useful to use someone who is recognised as doing the job well. If you are the Alan from Lincolnshire area I and your mate is local I may be able to use him.

Let me know?

One of the guys at works have used Dent Wizard in the past, most recently to pull a number of shopping trolley style dents out of his Madza 323F.

They did a superb job.

Matt,
what sort of price did he pay for the job? they are nationwide too arent they?

Re: nice!

Hi all.

This is a corrosion problem. The mirror base is made of an alloy. The white stuff is a type of 'rust' from the alloy. You need to treat this before re-spraying.

Mark.
