Technical Door locking

Doors lock and unlock normally on the plip, but the tailgate does not unlock with the unlock eberything button. It does unlock when I use the 3rd, unlock tailgate only butto. Any suggestions on what to check first to get it back opening with the doors?

If you are unlocking the car with the main unlock button and then going to the tailgate and when you go to open it nothing happens, BUT it opens when you press the tailgate unlock, then it is most likely the uswitch failed.

Happened on my Cross, tailgate always opened on the remote but not using the built in switch after unlocking the car.

After you unlock, does the tailgate make the usual sound when you press the uswitch area?

Ah ha thankyou, logical. I will try cleaning it first, its doing exactly what you suggest. Irritating but not the end of the world. Our 169 played up but that was locking, unlocking and opening when on the move. This we can live with but it needs fixing. Many thanks. My brain is switched off permanently I think....
