Don't worry it happens in any car, my laguna doing 30mph in a 30 zone on a normal single lane road often gets overtaken....

yer but im not even talkin 30 zones lol, i was going 80 on a small bit of dual carriageway and they all had to get past!!!

Just let them :) A lot of cars can do more than 80 without a problem, a 999cc uno doesn't have a huge amount of go above that point....

I don't speed much, I wouldn't really on a dual carriage way, not above 80mph no way, however, on an open motorway 80mph is nothing in a 1.8 litre car....

i do let em pass lol, me 999cc aint quick enough, the other cars are all beasts compared to my motor, but it kicks all them in town on rounderbouts. The other day i had a race off with a 1 litre honda jazz, i left it in the distance hehe, Uno is so light when compared to a modern car! Top speed is bout 95 in a uno i thinkkkkkk!

Yep about 95 - you will get more with a nice wind and slope etc. but you will also get more dropping it off a cliff, so a little irrelevant ;)

However, 80+ isn't exactly on tap.

Don't worry, a few years time you will be on of those wanting to go past.

In New Zealand, nobody breaks the speed limit by more than a little bit (20km/h or so) - the speed limit is 100km/h. If you're driving at 120km/h (about 75mph) then nobody will pass you. In fact, you'll be roaring past most of the other drivers and risking a $200 (70 pound) fine.

I noticed, when I was driving in England, the huge disparity of speed on motorways (we don't really have motorways). Some people were doing 60. I was driving at 100mph in my Punto (because I could :)) and there were still BMWs, Ford Transit vans, etc. going past. It seemed that people just drove as fast as their vehicle would allow...

...whereas over here, most of the cars are Jap Imports or Aussie sixes/V8s capable of 200km/h... yet no-one dares to exceed 120... I think we must have far more police patrols over here!

Alex, people don't do their maximum, most people don't like going too far away from the limit...
