Hi all, ive just bought a Fiat Brava 1.2 2001 model for the girlfriend and the description says it has immobiliser and alarm. The key is just a standard key, no button for alarm orf central locking so im wondering how and if the alarma and immobiliser work? Is it as simple as the that the key demobilises both the immobiliser and alarm when used to unlock the door or start the car?? How can i check the alarm goes off or that the immobiliser is working?

No the 1.2 never came with an alarm. Factory fit alarms have the button in the key. Your car does however have central locking via the key and an immobiliser. The immobiliser works via the transponder fitted inside your two blue keys and red key.

I.e if you have just a key cut and try start the car, it wont. You need a special transponder cut key. They program the little transponder to your current key.

Fiat do a Remote central locking kit, that connects somewhere behind the glovebox but you'll need to do some research if you want that as im not sure if its model dependant. Its not an alarm just remote central locking.

Hope the info above helps.
