General does anyone actualy know

i have been asking for a couple of years now to try and find out how many mk1 tipo 2.0 16v were made for britain but as yet nobody knows, i've even sent a email to the main fiat website asking for this infomation but never got a reply, so can anyone put me out my mysery and tell me???? and is there anyway of finding out how many are still registered as on the road???

try oldham motors its a fiat main dealer, but i got a sump gaskget from there and the guy who served me, was in the fiat showroom when they were sold so he might have an idea,

http://www.tipo16v.co.uk/ according that site it is 600 officially imported Sedicivalvoles. Though it doesn't say if that's Mk1s and 2's or even break it down. I'd imagine the number left is surprisingly low, despite them often turning up on ebay. i know of one round here that was broken up. might be worth creating a Register of the remaining ones. hmmmmm.

i've never seen another one on the road in all the time i've owned one, apart from one in ibiza which does not count as it wasn't british registered. everyone always thinks mine is a uno turbo

Ive owned 3 my dad has owned 3 as well and all those are still running today. Also Gary from Derby (who i believe Hellcat got his head from?) has about 8 in his back garden.lol He is also on this forum but dunno how often he comes on

My father in law has one and obviously I've the milkbottle. Gaz only had 4 in his garden as far as I could remember. Blue one, blue/green one, the while one with the momo wheels and all the stickers, and a red one which had seen much better days.

His (think it was cousin) has one or two and comes on here a bit more often than Gaz.

lol gary now ownes his brother in laws two cars now. He also has one which he completely stripped and threw the chasis away so if anyone needs any parts give him a ring her advertises on e bay as well. (sorry hellcat if im not suppose to mention that in this section)

I agree with Hellcat - less than A 100 on the road I would think. What I can say is that the previous owner of my car wrote to Fiat Uk and got an official "we havn't a clue mate" reply in 1996!!

I also have a copy of Fast Lane for April 1993 which includes a Sedicivalvole buyers guide. It refers to "only 409 sold as at Feb 1993" Given that the 3 door came along in summer 1993 (although I know of at least 1 L plate 5 door) this goes some way to fix the 5 door at around 450 max, maybe less.

A new thread to record Uk survivors only is a good idea.....I would suggest reg date/colour/miles/roadworthy y or n/recaros y or n/ modified y or n.

i did have a L reg 3 door before this one but that has gone to car heven now, only drove it three times but was going to be far to many pennys to put on the road. so thats one less.

do you think i would be able to get this infomation from the dvla, they will know how many is still registered, but then again that would be incorrect, i still have log book for my black one as it got stolen for scrap but i never reported it as i never changed it over into my name, so that will be still showing on the dvla records.

You can always try.

As for roadworthyness - poor Rich! Must be the best mechanically, but very, very illegal on the roads

well we dont seem to be getting many people listing there tipos on the 'still alive tipo sedicivalvoles' section so does this mean there is less than we thought?

i've decided to invest in a coupe 20v turbo, so im saving every penny up to get one now, im not getting rid of my tipo, i dont think i ever will. i want to get a coupe in red so they will look good next to each other on the drive. im doing this as i dont want to run the mileage up on my tipo going to work and back every day, the better i keep my tipo the more it will be worth as they get less on the road.

Going good. Couple of un-related issues. Potential starter motor or engine earth issue... Engine going strong!
