Hi, When warm, my nice 2007 Doblo 1.9 jtd starts very badly or won't start at all. It will happily bump start though.
Battery and starter motor are fine.
It starts fine when cold and then usually runs sweetly, but occasionally it will develop a very loud and violent misfire, but only on tickover... sounds like gunshots!
Have taken to three mechanics who can' t help. One tried a new crankshaft sensor but it didn't make any difference.
Three diagnostics have not thrown up anything.
Any suggestions please.

When it won't start when hot is the starter spinning over, or is it like a flat battery?
Hopefully not that and something else, as I have seen that caused by leaking head gasket causing an hydraulic lock and when bump started can seriously damage the engine.
Incidentally bump starting diesels is not a good idea.
A similar problem can be diesel injectors leaking building up diesel on pistons while stationary when hot , less of a problem overnight as probably stops leaking as pressure drops and seeps away.Usually crank sensor in my experience cuts engine when hot and then allows a restart as it cools ten minutes later, but spins over fine just no go and also often rev counter doesn't try to move as not getting signal from sensor..
