General Doblo !.9 JTD??

Hello all..Im new here!!
Im after someones honest opinion on the doblo 1.9JTD
We are looking at it as a towcar for our caravan unladen weight 710kg (if that helps)

I like the look of the car, are the JTD engines better than the HDI from the rival berlingos??? i know HDI owners that have had appalling probs...any help much appreciated,,,we are going to test drive one tomorrow

JTD is a great engine, but for towing you need to make sure you get the 120bhp version.

i know its going to be totally different to what we got now mondeo 2l tdci 130bhp... but theres something about them doblos that say buy me...

the doblo should tow the caravan easily as the punto jtd can tow 1100kg

We needed to use Mrs_G's Doblo to tow our previous caravan on a couple of occasions. (Car needed repairs too soon to going away).

The caravan had a max weight of 1000Kg. Mrs_G's JTD is the 105bhp version. It towed very well. The torque meant top gear was no problem, the short rear overhang kept things nice and stabble even when 'pressing on'.

You should be very happy with it.

You can tow up to 1200kg with the Doblo without a problem.

I've been told that there also very stable as Niall said.

They are great cars, it's like marmite you either love them or you hate them

I have considered using Mrs O's Dobbin, rather than my Suzuki GV, on occasions. My main reservation is that we have to go, if not actually off-road, on to the green stuff and have reservations about keeping the front wheels under control if the grass is wet or muddy.

Yes that is certainly a big consideration. Especially if you have a lot of weight over the rear axle.

You have to be very careful when towing with a Doblo JTD - they can pull your caravan apart
