OK new to site but really need some guidance please . Having a random issue with non start immobiliser fault . Tried both keys and nothing just cranks. If I leave it a few hours it will fire up like normal and away it goes . Then will go days or weeks without fault .. any ideas ?

Had it long?
Gradual decline .. related to other issues?

Ive had 1 that was temp. Related
Only played up with COLD :eek:


I easy thing to try..

Undo the steering rake adjuster..
Move it up and down through a few arcs

( can wriggle the loom enough to make a difference)

Just had it recovered back and will check your idea . Funny because when I switch ignition on temp gauge hits max then comes back down even tho it's cold so must be a bad earth somewhere causing my issue .
 
So went out to it today and it started first turn . Let it warm up fully and switched it off . Went through some of the wiring around engine bay and all seems good .but . Restarted doblo and it ran for a few mins then just shut down ..immobiliser fault showing so cranks and non start . Switched key on and off a dozen times quickly and it fired up . Can anyone confirm there is a known ignition switch issue please with dodgy terminals ? Plan to replace main earth and clean all ecu terminals as a precaution tomorrow too. Cheers

Was the immob showing when it shut itself down ?

Main earth cable..
Ive not seen reports of it actually Stopping a vehicle.. biggest load is starter.. and that seems uneffected.

There is /was

A contactor disc at bottom of lock barrel

Convert key position into electrical connections

Ive had 1 wear badly before.. dont think it would directly effect the immob.

But could possibly turn things off


Its a weird one..
look to things that turned it off 1st..

Fuel pump switched off maybe..??
So check underbonnet connection..earth strap

Then ignition contacts


Always worth moving the steering wheel rake adjuster around too.. could tug on a poor connection
