Definitley!

At times things can be taken far too seriously on websites, especially ones with a specialty (like this one) and some users dont like topics that have nothing to do with what the website is based on!

i am sure we have all seen the type of treatment people can get for just having a bit of light hearted banter (coupe forum anyone? )...

So yeah...I definitley think its important especially when you have a user base spread over as large an area as this site!

I think its important on a site even though some people dont like it, Im not car savvy so I would be no good on a site that was car talk all the time.. Its a good way to get to know someone also.

Ofcourse banter is important.
Hell if there were no banter around here we would rarely post anythin as it would just leave us with reliability posts and as we all drive Fiats we don't have reliability problems!

Well said, this site would be a barren wasteland if we didn't talk shite

Plus, it also helps with meets as you know what to talk to people about, you have a bit of a rapport going etc
