i was told to do a engine cam belt change you have to drop the engine i this true and what can you do cheap:) to up the power a little in the 20v turbo coupe i love them so much now i have one and iv allways been audi :D

If you are in Ipswich i would suggest going to Powerfiat in basildon for your cambelt change etc...

:( I dont have experience of Avanti - I do of Powerfiat and it was excellent, hence my suggestion.

Its frosty on here at the mo

Basically you just need to support the engine then disconnect the engine and gearbox mounts. You should then be able to move the whole engine gearbox assembly over to give you more room to take the covers and pulleys/waterpump off.

Be warned though, the tensioner pulley was a bit of a pain to change as the threaded stud that it`s fitted on could have done with being a couple of threads shorter:mad:. After a bit of engine leverage though I got it swapped over:D .

Baz :)

There is a complete HOW TO guide with pictures, if you search the internet.

Thanks for being helpful.

So rather than tell him it can be found I'll link it. ;)

I would love to have posted a link to a full guide for changing a COUPE 20vt cambelt, but I am not allowed to post links here yet :bang:

Bob

Powerfiat in Basildon and Motormech in Birmingham will both do cambelts inc tensioners for about £400

The only thing I have heard about avanti is to not go there. Not had 1st hand experience however.

ive heard that on other forums too, but no one ever says where they are, ive also heard good things about them. so is there more than one company trading under the same name? as the uno lot seem to rate some place called avanti.
the one in ipswich is called avanti autos

but ive heard people talk of avanti tuning
and avanti motor sport

so i dont know if they all talking about diffrent places.
ive read on here that Paul Newton at Avanti Autos Ipswich is a top bloke
