Do induction kits work on the HGT......................

I've spoken to my local rolling roader and he said that induction kits are useless on the Fiat HGT and Coupes. His reason is that they draw in too much warm air from under the bonnet, thus even reducing performance. His recommendation is to fit a performance panel filter.

Has any of you forum guys used an induction kit, if so have you noticed any improvement in performance or just an increase of noise with the induction roar?

Failing that is there any "proven" induction kits available for the HGT?

Thanks in advance

Scotty

Induction kits do near enough nothing on the vast majority of fuel injected cars unless you have the ECU tweaked (usually need a chip).

They just sound nice :)

Re: Re: Do induction kits work on the HGT......................

its how u use the induction kit that counts.

-if ur air intake systems is restrictive and induction kit will help.

-if ur air intake system uses warm air then a cold air induction kit will help

If your lucky enough to own a car that has a restrictive system running off warm air then a cold air induction kit will help loads.

Thing is most of the cars nowadays have nice effecient air intake systems, therefore a performance panel filter will do the job.

Not really, the ECU is programmed to control an engine with certain characteristics. When you change things the ECU just keeps on running the engine as it always did.
