Hi all, while there are plenty of references on this board to disc brake kits I thought it might be useful to have a thread where people discuss their direct personal experience with the various front disc conversion kits out there.

I am considering this kit for my 695 D resto and wondered if anyone had any experience with it.

HI Roger; Which ever system you use, make sure that it correct for the size and typr of wheels that you will be fitting. Some kits will NOT fit inside a 12inch wheel. The kit you have been looking at is for original pattern wheel bolt spacing, NOT modern 98mm pcd wheels. If you buy a kit for 98mmpcd wheels, you can get adaptor spacers that allow you to use original pattern wheels. Try www.classicfiat.com they do kits (same prices) for both 12inch and 13inch wheels. Alternatively, why not get adaptor plates, a set of 126 corners (for 98pcd wheel fitment) and make your own disc sets--you can use seicento/cincecento discs and calipers; I believe ford fiesta discs can be used as well. All the best whichever way you go.:)

Hobbler, do the adaptor plates work with 12 inch wheels, or do you need 13 inch wheels? I seem to remember reading on the 126 forum that the adaptor plates could only work with 13 inch wheels, but I could be wrong. If they do work with 12 inch wheels, do you know where you can get a set of plates from? I remember seeing some on ebay, but they don't appear to be listed anymore.
