So the relay is energised by coil being pulled down to ground -ve by the computer (a transistor switch).
Would it be true that if the dashboard indication shows lights on then either the input signal to the computer or the computer is faulty.
Could it be something in the steering column light switch. (selector).
Knew mine fault would be an intricate one.
ISTR reading somewhere that a faulty stalk switch or wiring can cause the BCM to default the dipped headlights to be always on with the ignition energised.
Thanks again. Will have a look at this at the weekend. Think you have given me some brilliant info that I can work with. It is a high probability that something has happened at H005.
Unplugged the two connectors on the steering column switch assembly. The one with the red retaining clip and the other black one which may be the air bag connections. Did not remove the main beam lights on dashboard. Lights indicating still on. Computer or input connections?
