will the later model bravo digital clocks work ok in the earlier version which had the mechanical trip

No, This has been mentioned before, The older models is mechanical where as the newer are electrical,
If i am wrong then my memory has gone tits up! and i apologise

They are all electronic, only way to see is to try

Although doesn't the display show some engine diagnostics?
