Just bought our second Multipla off ebay a few days ago:

2004 1.6 new shape
34k miles

I bought it knowing about these faults:
1) oil leaking from the diff on both sides, getting worse everyday since i bought it.
2) whirring sound when depressing the clutch. maybe thrust bearing?
3) front discs quite corroded

Came not too far from the sea so i am hoping the oil leaking from both sides of the diff are just rubber deterioration, and not a problem with the diff.
So my question is... can anyone give me a few pointers on how to change these seals myself on a multipla.???

I can do the discs, pads, boots and low swingarms at the same time, but Second question: Should i have a go at the clutch too? it is working fine bar a little noise... and quite a lot more work without a lift me thinks...

34,000 seems a bit soon to be having a dodgy thrust bearing.
Gearbox is easily do-able though without a lift, Trolley Jack and Axle Stands are all you need, and some sort of engine support assembly, bought or home-made.
There's nothing too tricky about it, just lots of bits to remove, loosen, or undo.

Plenty of good info and pictures on here as well.
Try these for starters...
