I ve just took my starter motor to a car electrics place to get fixed. The guy has just told me their is fluid in the starter motor either oil or diesel how has it go in there. The car is an n reg punto diesel.

Crankshaft oil seal will leak onto the flywheel maybe that could spray out and get into the starter. Is there engine oil dripping from the clutch bell-housing?

Check your diesel pipes and filter to see if there are any leaks.

Just took the starter motor to be reconditioned and he is going to charge me £45 to do it. Is that a fair price?

Where the starter motor connects to the engine their must be diesel getting into starter wheir do i start looking for leak.

Thanks

Very fair. Rearrange these words to make a well known phrase:
hand
bite
off
his

Get the oil leak checked out and fixed. If its the crankshaft oil seal, the clutch will soon be slipping.
