HEYA ALL

i got a lil blue 899cc cinq i have striped it down and have found the engine is nakerd i have put most of the running gear from a sporting onto it but am stuck for engine choice i was thinking of a small turbo diesel lump anyone know if anyone has done this conversion and what engines i could use if diesels no good whats the biggest engine i can get in there i would like a turbo or supercharger i can get bits easly as i have friends in the breaking trade.

IDEAS ANYONE !!

:yeahthat: Problem is there's a lot of custom work to be done. I was helping someone actually with this project but he ended up selling the engine after he found the ECU that was capable of what he wanted was stupidly expensive.

its pretty mad how diesels... once knowen for running forever even under water as long as they have air and fuel. these days there more complicated...electronicaly... then petrol engines

if you had a written off panda mjet as a donor car, then it'd be possible (retain the whole panda ECU, canbus, dash etc etc but other than that, too tricky to use a modern diesel

Not really, they are more compolicated than cento petrol engines, but modern petrol engines have very similar electronics to modern diesels.

What's the noise and vibration going to be like?

I find there's plenty in a Cento with a petrol engine, never mind a diesel.

I will admit I had considered this before myself though, but the time and money would stop me.

The FIAT MJ engine will be too tall to fit without a lot of work, what about one of those small 3cyl Diesels?
The engine its self fitted just fine, the problem was things like the manifolds, custom drive shafts (the stock ones were too long iirc), an ECU that could drive the injectors was also a problem though a modified petrol MS may be feasible. The project is possible but it'll need someone with real determination to make it work.

I was more thinking about the electronics, diesel injectors apparently are rather hard on the ECU designed to drive petrol engines.

ive got a diahatsu charade 1.0 3cyl diesel turbo engine that would fit prfectly into a cinq, got the full car very nippy little engine. going cheap if you want it to try fit it.

got full wiring loom and gearbox and driveshafts with it complete running engine the cars getting scrapped as it was brought for spares and repairs for parts on a import charade but later found out its a cut and shut because the car snapped in half after with gave it a pannel beating with sledgehammers
