Why should we be happy with a car worth less than what we paid for? A new car is paid for, and we get a second-hand car that we don't like. Why should we be happy with that?
I'm very puzzled by your comments. Are you saying that if you personally were to buy a brand new car and it gets taken away again, that you should be happy with whatever you get?
That's like saying that it's fair to pay full price for a new car. and then the dealer doens't have to give you that car, just any old cheap car that they have spare instead. ...coz that's what happened from the consumer's point of view.
You make it sound like they're giving us something for nothing. A courtesy car is not free, there's always somebody paying for it, wether it be the dealer to keep your custom, or it gets claimed on the original car's warranty.
If a friend were to break my brand new car and then lend me his crappy old car, I would not be happy then either.
