Technical diagnostic socket

O.K. I give up. Can anyone tell me where to find the diagnostic socket on a x (2000) reg mearea 1600. I have been behind and under dash but cannot discover it?

This is from the 2000 range 1596cc Marea workshop manual.

Cheers Dave. Have the manual and the picture seems to bear no resemblance to position, unless it's heavily disguised as a fuse board.

Manual shows left hand drive version, perhaps it's on the opposite side.

it is where the diagram says apart from being the other side it has a cover over it to keep it from getting stuff in.

I thought the 16-pin EOBD socket was only used from 2001 onwards, and before that each ECU had it's own individual 3-pin diagnostic plug?

You might be right I dont know but if it had a one it would be where I said it is
