Sorry to post so much on the same problem. Hopefully this will be the last one.

My car is under powered and very un responsive to the throttle. I belive it is a result of this (see video).

I had the rocker gear out at the weekend to replace a tappet. But unfortunately I had the worng type to replace it with. At the same time I took out all the tappets to check them over and its likely but not a sure thing that the tappets ended up in different rockers than they came from but its still smae arm that has play in it. Can anyone suggest anything or confirm that it is the tappet?

Cheers

There not the "pre-loadable" kind. In other words they have no adjusters on the non tappet side of the rocker.

Cheers

Yeah they have little bits to make contact with the push rod but no adjustable screw.

Had another look last night with all the rocker gear off.

Looking down the push rod bore/hole you can see the followers. All but the dodgy one are wet and glistening with oil. Where as the effected one is bone try and with a torch you can sort of see wierd marks in it.

Pretty sure its been starved of oil and jsut worn away as the push rods not coming up anywhere near as high as the others.

Engine swap at the weekend.

After that the old one will get broken down to find out what went wrong and just for fun too.

Cheers for the help though chaps

Yeah the actual follower is still there its just bone dry. Cleaned up the new engine last night so should be in at the weekend so when the old ones out I'll take some picks when i find whats what.
Cheers
