Technical Desperate Help needed

I am in desperation I have to go to collect my children tomorrow from Darlington but cant get my 03 Ulysses Diesel to start. It was going great till a friend decided to fit a radio for me he accidently shorted out the system the wipers started to go & indicators & headlights came on at this point the key fob stopped working & engine wont start. The engine turns over but wont fire nothing at all on the fob works & i only have that 1 key. I found fuse number 4 under bonnet blown which says it is Key fuse I have tried resting the key by disconnecting battery & refitting also holding down buttons like it says can anyone help PLEASE:worship:

Sorry to hear about your trouble.
We had a similar problem recently, after some work was done which required the battery to be disconnected.
In the end I took it to a garage with diagnostic equipment and it simply needed to have fault codes reset!
He charged £40 but he did change my fuel filter in the price.

I had a friend who had the same problem ,and after getting the RAC out it was towed to a garage to have the electrics sorted out . Unfortunatly it needed special equipment that only the garage had . and even then it was not a five minute job to sort out the problem . Regards Jono .

I had the main agents out who could not find fault & tried to charge me £297 + vat for doing nothing (no chance) decided to get into it myself found a after-market hands free under seat that had been fitted very badly with live wire touching seat ripped it all out het presto all works reprogrammed key. Just a starting first thing in morning issue as have to jump it even tho there is plenty of power in battery
