Hi
New to this. Live in very rural SW France with a 2004 Ulysse Eleganza 2ltr JTD.
Have had numerous intermittent electrical faults which a mate has
managed to sort out but not the following one which is the most
frightening.
It was the case that full beam would not stay on and would click back
to dipped beam. After clicking the stalk several times or holding it up for a while full beam would then remain on but recently it has taken to turning all the lights out whilst fiddling with stalk. Obviously I slam on the brakes and to date turning the light switch off and then back on brings the lights back on.
On the unlit minor roads of rural France this is really frightening as you
can end up in deep ditches on the roadside.
We have treated the fusebox under the dreaded 'water drain hole' with
Wurth contact cleaner but the problem seems to be happening more and more frequently. Although basically the same model as the Peugeot 807 and Citroen C8 the French don't want to know or have a clue.
I've got to get back to the UK but at the moment I only feel safe whilst driving in the daylight. Any advice or possible solutions would be gratefully received thanks.
