Has anyone on here got any experience of designing sub boxes using Thiele-Small parameters?
I've just had a crack at it using BassBox Pro v6 and it tells me that I need a (sealed) box volume of 35 litres (assuming I use minimal damping) for a pair of these speakers (the 8" model): http://www.skytronic.co.uk/product/product.php?s=902.420

Does that seem reasonable? Has anyone even got the vaguest idea what I'm on about (I'm not sure I have...) ;)

Hope you've noticed that they're 8 ohm JB :)

Indeed I have! I plan to run them in parallel from a bridged 2-channel amp, so that the amp sees 4 ohms (y)

Is that taking the sub itself into account? About 0.6cuft each, quite big but that should help it on the lower stuff.

Yep, the program takes the volume of the sub into account as well as the volume of internal bracing :) took me several hours to figure out how to do it mind!

I've since altered the damping settings slightly, as I plan to line the interior of the box with packaging foam, the program now says 32 litres for both subs which is 0.57cu.ft each :D

Cheers chaps! (y)
